Why Your Participation is Important
The link between political participation, social activism, and digital literacy is crucial. Our research aims to explore how digital skills and knowledge of digital rights influence youth engagement and activism in the digital sphere. By participating in this survey, you will help us understand these links better and enable us to create strategies that empower more youth like you.
What We Aim to Discover
Our research focuses on three main objectives:
- Mapping Youth Participation: Identify the most common forms of youth political participation and social activism in the digital realm.
- Assessing Digital Literacy: Determine the extent to which youth understand their digital rights and possess essential digital skills.
- Showcasing Success Stories: Highlight case studies of successful youth-led digital activism projects.
How You Can Help
We have designed a survey to gather your perspectives on digital rights, skills, and participation. Your responses are invaluable, and there are no right or wrong answers—just your honest opinions.
How to Participate
- Take the Survey: Click here to fill out the survey. It’s anonymous, and your insights will contribute to shaping better opportunities for youth in digital democracy.

What’s Next?
Our research process will involve multiple methods to gather comprehensive data and insights. We will start with desk research, reviewing existing literature, strategic frameworks, policies, and laws relevant to youth participation in the digital sphere to establish a strong contextual foundation. Next, we will conduct in-depth interviews with experts in digital literacy, youth activism, and political participation to gain detailed and nuanced perspectives. Additionally, we will engage directly with youth through focus groups, exploring their experiences, opinions, and ideas in a collaborative setting. We will also identify and analyze successful examples of youth digital activism through case studies, highlighting key factors that contributed to their success. By integrating data from these various sources, we aim to develop a comprehensive report. Our timeline includes completing data collection by August 2024, publishing the report in September 2024, and organizing a public event by mid-October 2024 to present our findings and recommendations. This report will not only present our findings but also offer actionable recommendations tailored for decision-makers, political parties, youth organizations, and young people themselves. Our goal is to foster an environment where all youth have the opportunity to effectively engage in digital democracy and drive positive change in their communities. EYDR will publish two reports, one for Albania and one for Montenegro.
About the Project
The EYDR project is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Youth program. Our partners, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights and Share Foundation have supported with the methodology design for the mapping. Whereas SCiDEV leads the fieldwork and report write up in Albania in cooperation with our partners CCIS, ESN Albania and National Youth Agency. Our partner UZOR will conduct the mapping in Montenegro.
